Frequency Containment Reserve (FCR)

Frequency containment reserve is provided in a decentralised manner in power plants to stabilise the grid frequency. The average values that occurred within a quarter of an hour in the APG control area are shown on this page. These are target values that are calculated on the basis of grid frequency deviations. They are normally published within minutes after each quarter of an hour. An update is provided after each full hour.

Please consider the new depiction of delivered volumes of FCR starting with 01 January 2021. When there is underfrequency (f < 50,00 Hz), positive FCR is delivered (positive y-axis); when there is overfrequency (f > 50,00 Hz), negative FCR is delivered (negative y-axis).
